NOTICE of INTENT to DESTROY SPED RECORDS

Big Horn Co. School District #1 hereby provides 60-day notice that all special education records of students last receiving special education services during the 2018-2019 School Year and prior to Fall 2019 will be destroyed July 01, 2024 unless parents or adult students with proof of ID pick up the records or request in writing that they be maintained.

The special education records, which must be maintained by state statute, include the student’s name, address, phone number, grades, attendance record, classes attended, grade level completed and year completed.

This record purge DOES NOT include the permanent record of each student, which must be maintained indefinitely.
