Burlington High School hosted a great Career Awareness Seminar organized by Sally Bernhisel our district's Career Coordinator. Two hundred and thirty students from Rocky Mountain High School, Burlington High School, Ten Sleep High School, and Meeteetse High School attended. Twenty-three workshop presenters, a college panel from NWC, and an endnote speaker offered career related information. Topics included:

  • road construction (Mountain Construction)

  • manning drones for businesses and military (GT Aeronautics)

  • medical professional opportunities (North Big Horn Hospital)

  • mechanics and welders (WyoTech)

  • small business (The Burlington Place)

  • teaching (Big Horn School Dist #1)

  • computers and technology (NWC)

  • military (Marines)

  • athletic careers that aren't professional athletes (NWC)

  • criminal justice (Big Horn County Sheriff's Department)

  • soft skills employers need you to have (CFES Brilliant Pathways)

  • how to get hired (US Bancorp)

  • NWC admissions/scholarships (NWC)

The University of Wyoming's High Altitude Pathways to College and Career Readiness grant covered lunch which took 80 pizzas and additional expenses. North West College helped with organizing the event.
