Over the years, the State of Wyoming has invested much in education. This has allowed us to build wonderful facilities and to maintain high quality educational programs. We have staff who are dedicated to the development of young people. Our communities are composed of families that support our tradition of excellence as we learn, grow, and achieve together. Our students are outstanding in so many ways.

Superintendent Bio:

I grew up on a farm/ranch in a family with ten siblings in Burlington. This setting provided a great education in many facets of life and provided a strong foundation to build upon.  Many, many community members and teachers influenced my development.

I attended Ricks College, The University of Wyoming, and Idaho State University. At Laramie, I met my sweetheart, Margaret Robertson, a Lovell native. The best blessings of my life have been shared with her.

My teaching career started in Laramie along with our family. We moved to Ten Sleep where I taught and coached.  I came back to Burlington as the K-12 Principal twenty-seven years ago. During my tenure in our district, I have also served as the curriculum and instruction director and federal programs manager for a number of years. I coached basketball at various levels for many years.

Our six children graduated from Big Horn County School District #1. They were well prepared for their next life-transition. We officially became "empty-nesters" one year ago though there are frequent visitors back to the nest.  Our son-in-law, and daughters-in-law along with grandchildren have multiplied our family in many wonderful ways.

I have enjoyed my career as an educator. It has been my privilege to work with many amazing young people, outstanding professionals, and supportive families. Big Horn County School District #1 encompasses great communities with strong families and fine schools.
